Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th

Wednesday will be a travel day with a midday flight from Miami to Washington Dulles.

A bad move on my part as the arrival time was peak hour and it took 2 hours to get to our hotel.

Thursday & Friday was spent touring the sights of the capital.

The first place visited was the Arlington Cemetery. It' s huge and extremely well maintained.

Above left: The extensive rows of grave stones.

Above right: - he Kennedy graves.

Left: The tombs of the unknown soldiers - The first from WWW1, the second from WW2 and Korea and the third from Vietnam. The Vietnam is now empty as the remains were subsequently identified by DNA analysis and returned to the fmily.

After Arlington Cemetery, it was into the Mall to see the various memorials and sights.

There was a lot of things planned for the weekend, it was difficult setting close to the White House.
