Cancun - Thursday May 5th to Sunday May 8th
Thursday 5th
A travel day with flights from Lima to Cancun via Panama city. Basically a fill day of battling traffic to and from airports and about 6 hours fo flying time. We arrived at out Cancun hotel at about 9:pm.

Friday
6th A very quiet day today. Making arrangements for the following two days, laying on the beach and having a lovely Thai dinner. |

Saturday 7th
An all day tour taking in Chichen Itza and a nearby cenote (sink hole).

The area of the ruins is very extensive and has yet to be fully investigated and/or restored |

The Cenote where the challenge is to take on the 100 steps down to the water. All the red specs are swimmers with life jackets. It seems that a lot of visitors aren't good swimmers. |

As it was a very hot day, the cold refreshments
offered by the tour guide on return to the bus was greatly appreciated.

Sunday 8th
A half day tour to the Tulum ruins south of Cancun. Not as spectacular or extensive as Chichen Itza but just as interesting. On return to the hotel it was rest time by the pool.
