Iguassu Falls - Sunday April 24th to Tuesday April 26th
Sunday 24th
Up before dawn to be sure we caught our early flight to Foz de Iguacu (south west of Rio near the boarders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay).
Touring started straight after landing with a visit to the Iguassu Falls to view them from the Brazilian side. After that we did a quick tour of the Itaipu Dam.
At the end of the day we crossed the boarder back into Argentina to our accommodation for the next two nights.

The falls are pretty awesome. You cant see them all from any location because they are so extensive.

Monday 25th
The plan for today was to view the falls from the Argentinean side. The weather didn't cooperate and it rained heavily all day. We got to see the falls but it was pretty difficult getting photos due to the wet and windy conditions. |

It's quite a trek to get from the visitor centre to the falls. First there is a 15 minute train ride through the jungle to get to the river. Then it's a 1.1km walk along a walkway across bridges and islands in the river to the Devil's Throat part of the falls. You end up right on the edge of the falls and so it is difficult to see how wide they are. And you get soaked. But it was worth the visit. |
