A leisurely breakfast, a leisurely bus ride to the airport, a leisurely flight to Rio de Janeiro,

a  leisurely bus ride to to the hotel, a leisurely beer-o-clock followed by a leisurely dinner.

   Friday 22nd

This was a very busy day with a city tour in the morning, Sugarloaf Mountain for the sunset and a traditional BBQ dinner.

   Saturday 23rd

The schedule for today was a morning visit to Corcovado Mountain to visit the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer. The afternoon was free to do as we whished.

Unfortunately, the weather was very hazy , the amount of visitors to the statue was rather large so getting best of the views was a challenge. There was a lot of waiting for your turn to get your pictures and in lines for getting around the statue. On the way back, the cog railway up the mountain had some mechanical issues and we had an hour wait to get down the mountain.

On returning to the hotel it was time for a few cold beers and a late lunch. After lunch Phil went down the the beach and I stayed in the hotel for a nap.

That night we had a wander along the Copacabana beach front and picked a nice little restaurant for dinner.
